Established in 1992, Conrad Management Services Company Limited (Conrad) is a company providing property management, security services and related training courses for non-profit organisations.

Commitment to environmental protection

‘We adopted environmental measures, such as installation of energy-saving devices and reuse of packaging materials, within the company,’ said John Wong, Director of Conrad, ‘and we also promote environmental protection to our clients and business partners.’ Apart from providing regular environmental training for staff to increase their awareness, Conrad also provides voluntary seminars on environmental protection for non-profit organisations.

Excellence in employee management

Conrad offers subsidies and time-off for staff to attend training for their personal and career development. Work life balance initiatives are also in place including flexible working hours, shift rotation for festivals and early leave to facilitate staff in taking care of family matters or other urgent needs. To promote the occupational health and safety of staff, personal protective equipment and mechanical aids are provided as necessary. In 2007, no occupational accidents were recorded.

Achievements in community development

A corporate volunteer team was established in 2003 which has 25-30 members at present and Conrad encourages staff participation in volunteer services by providing financial aid and facility support. Since 2003, Conrad has been providing voluntary security services to the Hong Kong Caritas Bazaar and it also supports the Women Service Association with marketing and public relations. It co-organises retraining courses on security services and property management for NGOs as well as supports training and providing job opportunities for youth through the Intensive Employment Assistance Projects and the Youth Work Experience and Training Scheme. The company’s active involvement and investment in partnerships to bring positive and sustainable solutions to the community have been recognised through the SME Community Participation Award under the Hong Kong Council of Social Service’s Caring Company Scheme.
