Bamboos Professional Nursing Services (Bamboos) was founded in 2003 to provide locum tenens and permanent placement of physicians, nurses, medical practitioners and health workers. Through a network of around 3,000 registered nurses, personal care workers and health care assistants, Bamboos provides solutions for various medical specialties, including hospitals, nursing homes and individuals.

Commitment to environmental protection

‘We have assigned a staff member to manage environmental issues and organise activities to raise staff awareness of environmental protection. We circulate environmental news among staff via email regularly to raise their environmental awareness.’ said Jacky Kwan, Chairman of Bamboos. In addition, a 20% reduction in electricity consumption has been achieved after installing energy-saving fluorescent tubes.


Excellence in employee management

Bamboos encourages staff development by providing both internal and external training. Subsidies are offered for job-related training courses, and notable staff benefits include birthday leave and meal subsidies every Thursday. Financial incentives are also offered to staff with outstanding performance. Bamboos has subscribed to the Occupational Safety Charter, a partnership programme organised by the Occupational Safety and Health Council to promote commitment from employers and employees in creating and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.


Achievements in community development

‘Bamboos has established a corporate volunteer team, and staff participating in voluntary services are given time off and subsidies to encourage participation,’ Jacky said. Bamboos is passionate about utilising its expertise to benefit the community, so voluntary training is provided for teenagers who are interested in becoming healthcare assistants and personal care workers. Job opportunities are offered when suitable candidates are identified.

Bamboos conducts regular telephone interviews and questionnaires to collect feedback and suggestions from customers. Relevant corporate information is communicated to stakeholders through the bi-monthly Bamboos Magazine.
